Yoga Asana/tai chi/qi gong
As a poet, allowing spirit to enliven words is essential to free verse.
In the same way the elemental embodying of each of these spirits in practice through the use of breath, movement and stasis produces a centred and powerful calm that resonates with “All My Relations”.
As such the practice resonates with life in it’s most elevated and inter-connected state
Session 1: Introduction to Fusion
Session one will introduce the philosophy of shuhari and mushin and how they relate to life. Practice will incorporate tai chi and qi gong sequences and the vinyasa that they dove-tail with. Sequences will be repeated until participants have an ease of familiarity with each flow.
Session 2: Moving toward mushing
This session will begin with the sequences from the prior day and will slowly integrate new movements into the flow. The 5- Elements of movement will be incorporated into the practice including spiralling and, marrow-cleansing qi gong, animal and slow-form tai chi and powerful vinyasa.
Session 3 : Free to Flow
Repeating the sequences from the first two days and encouraging participants to move as they are inspired to move based on the two previous sessions. One or two new movements will be introduced but the point is to be free of thought and flowing with the nature of Elemental Energy.
Session 4 : Mushin
A continuation of the last session, this final exploration will introduce the more complex sequencing that include inversions, long balance flows as well as the stillness that holds us to our Earth.
